Mac Trade-in Program

Now you can trade-in your old Apple computer for credit towards the purchase of a new computer at Tekserve. Your Mac is securely erased, protecting your data from being used by the next owner. We can even transfer your data from the old Mac to your new computer (for an additional fee).

How the Trade-in Program Works

  1. Fill out the trade-in form below to get an initial estimate of your computer's trade-in value.
  2. In the mean time, you should back up your old computer at home, or plan to apply some of your trade-in credit towards having us transfer the data onto the new computer for you. Make sure to check your backup carefully because your old computer will be securely erased after you trade it in.
  3. Bring your old computer into Tekserve (map & directions) with as many of its original accessories as possible: original box, power cord, original software installation disks, keyboard, mouse, etc. Having all your accessories can raise your trade-in value by 20-35%. You and your computer must come into Tekserve, we do not accept trade-ins by mail.
  4. Our staff will have the computer tested and give you a final trade-in offer based on the computer's condition and accessories included. If you accept the offer, you'll leave with a new computer. If you'd like us to transfer your data from the old computer onto the new computer, the process takes about 24 hours.

Apple Computers Eligible for Trade-in Credit

Your Mac must be working and be in good physical condition to be eligible for a trade-in credit.

Notebooks

  • MacBook Pro (Intel)
  • MacBook (Intel)
  • PowerBook G4 – models with a 1.25Ghz or faster processor

Desktops

  • iMac (Intel) and iMac G5
  • Mac Pro
  • PowerMac G5 – models with a dual 2.5Ghz or faster processor
  • Mac mini (Intel)

If your Mac doesn’t qualify for our trade-in program, we can still transfer your data and then recycle your computer. Tekserve also collects working computers for Material for the Arts and we offer 10% discounts for iPod recycling (working or not).
