Tekserve iPod Service FAQ

iPod Service FAQ

Is my iPod worth fixing?

There is no one good answer. We don't recommend repairs on older iPods or those with multiple problems. Bring your iPod in and we'll have a look at it. If a repair makes sense, we'll give you a free estimate. If you choose not to fix it, we offer a 10% discount on the purchase of a new iPod when you recycle your old one.

Can Tekserve do warranty iPod service?

No. We're sorry, but in order to obtain warranty service you will need to contact Apple. You can start the process here: http://www.apple.com/support.

My iPod Mini stopped working and makes a clicking sound.

That indicates a failed hard drive which we can replace with a more reliable same sized compact flash card for $99 + tax.

My iPod got soaked and now won't turn on. Is it a lost cause?

It probably is. On the bright side, it still qualifies for a 10% discount on the purchase of a new iPod.

I used my iPod to carry more than just my music, but now it won't show up when connected to my computer. Is there a way to get my files?

Yes, we can recover files from iPod hard drives. The fees are based on the size of the drive.

Do you support Windows iPod users?

Yes. We have Macs in our shop running Windows, so that won't be an issue at all. If you'd like to learn more, check out http://tekserve.com/sales/products/windowsxp.html.

Where do you get parts?

Some parts like batteries and flash drives are new, and some parts are recycled or refurbished. All parts come with our 90-day warranty.

Do you sell parts?

No. We have no control over the skill level of the installer or of the diagnosis. This often results in further damage, frequent returns, and unhappy customers.

Do you warranty your work?

Yes. Our repairs come with a 90-day warranty that covers the part that we replaced and installation.

How long will it take to fix my iPod?

Some repairs are done while-you-wait, most others are completed by the next business day.
