Technology moves quickly. Trading in your old device can help you get the latest gadget without feeling guilty.
Besides the savings you’ll receive from trading in at Tekserve, you’ll also be helping us with the global problem of eWaste, and you’ll put your older electronics to good use. By trading in old or unwanted electronics, you’re keeping harmful waste out of landfills across the country, and also providing access to less costly technology for those who need it.

What Can I Trade In?
You can trade in any notebook or desktop computer (Mac or PC) and any iPad or iPhone. Tekserve partners with PowerON Services Inc. for our trade-in program. PowerON will determine an estimated fair market value of your gadget(s).
Step 1 - Come into Tekserve
Tell our greeter you're here to trade-in your device. Make sure to bring your device with all its original accessories like the power cord. You'll want to backup all the information off your device before you come in or plan to spend some of your trade-in credit on a data transfer.
Step 2 - What's Your Device Worth?
Your Tekserve Specialist will evaluate the device and provide you with a trade-in value of the product. Macs purchased within the last three years & Tekserve iNSIDERS may be eligible for higher trade-in value than our online calculator estimates.
Step 3 - Receive a Gift Card or Trade-In Value Towards a New Machine
We will test your device for approximately 10-15 minutes to make sure everything is running smoothly. Once tested, you’ll receive a Tekserve gift card or you can use the amount as trade-in value towards a new machine – your choice!

Step 2 - What's Your Device Worth?
You will receive an instant quote estimating the value of your device. If you accept, you’ll receive an email containing info on how to ship your device to PowerON Services for free. If you prefer, you can come into the store and we can see if you're eligible for a higher trade-in value.
Step 3 - Receive an American Express Gift Card
Once the device has been received and checked by PowerON, you'll receive an American Express prepaid gift card. If you aren’t happy with the final value, you can have your device returned at no cost to you.

What Items Qualify for Trade-In?

How is the Value of My Equipment Determined?
The value of your device depends on a few things – including the condition your device is in as well as the demand for your device in the secondary electronics market. When you visit the trade-in portal, you’ll be asked a few questions about your item. Based on the info you provide, PowerON (our trade-in partner) will determine the value of your device and display a quote instantly.
Can My Quoted Value Change?
Yes. Once your item has been received, it is evaluated for a final value. Should the final value differ from the original quoted value, you will receive an email explaining the change. Should you not accept the adjusted value, you may have your item returned to you at no cost.
How Will I Be Paid for My Equipment?
Once your device has been received by PowerON, you should receive an AmEx Gift Card within three weeks.
Do Quotes Expire?
Yes. Quotes are valid for 30 days. After a quote has expired, you may request another quote.
What if My Device Has No Value?
If your device has no trade-in value, we will offer an easy way for you to recycle your item responsibly.
What Should I Do With My Equipment Before Sending it In?
We recommend you perform a complete backup and data wipe of all the info on your old computer. Refer to this article for a step by step guide to erasing data from your Mac. Tekserve and PowerON assume no responsibility for the loss of any confidential or personal data left on equipment. While in transit to PowerON, any files or data left on your system may be accessible to others if the data is not erased. If you are trading in a mobile device with a SIM card, please remove the SIM card prior to shipping it to PowerON.
What Happens to My Equipment After I Send it In?
Our trade-in partner PowerON will test and assess the equipment to determine if it qualifies for reuse. Qualifying equipment, tested and in working condition, will then be resold in the secondary electronics market as “used.”
What About My Personal Data?
PowerON’s will perform a complete data removal of your device. We recommend that you perform a complete backup and data wipe of all the information on your old computer. Refer to this article for a step by step guide to erasing data from your Mac. Tekserve and PowerOn are not responsible for the loss of confidential or personal information.
How Do I Ship My Product?
For equipment with a quoted value, a shipping label and packaging materials will be sent to you at no cost when you accept the quote. Shipping to PowerON is free. Tekserve and PowerON aren’t responsible for damage to your equipment during shipping.
Is There A Weight Limit on Shipments to PowerON?
Yes. There is a maximum per-box weight limit of 70 pounds.
