Time Machine: Is giving me an error when I try to backup.

First make sure your software is up-to-date by choosing Software Update from the Apple () menu. If you’re using a Time Capsule, make sure to install any AirPort firmware updates. If that doesn’t resolve your issue, check out Apple's Time Machine: Troubleshooting backup issues for resolutions to specific Time Machine error messages.
