Time Machine: I use FileVault and Time Machine doesn’t seem to work.
In OS X 10.5 & 10.6, Time Machine only backs up user data protected by FileVault when you log out. (This was fixed in Lion, 10.7.) You also won’t be able to explore your past backups in the cool time travel window. So if you only plan to use Time Machine to restore your entire system and you don’t mind logging out to backup, then you’re OK. If not, you’ll want to upgrade to Lion or choose another backup solution.
