Mac FAQ

Do you get an error that says the “operation cannot be completed...(error code = -43)?”

There are three problems that may cause this: illegal characters, a permissions issue, or a non-existent share point. The most common error is because Mac OS X allows you to use certain characters in file names that Windows does not allow. You should not use any of the following characters in file, folder, or drives names you plan to share: ? [] / \ = + < > ; : “ , | *.

For more details on how to fix this error and the other two less common issues, see Apple support article TS2039.
