Cover to Tekserve’s Mac FAQ 11th Edition by Shanti Seidel

Calling all Artists and Graphic Designers! We want you to design the cover to the next Tekserve Mac FAQ pocket guide. Tekserve has always been a haven for artists; now, we want to tap into the incredible talent and creativity of our customers.

Coming up on its 12th Edition, the Tekserve Mac FAQ is a pocket guide for troubleshooting your Mac. It’s our compilation of the most popular questions asked by our customers, as well as the best tips and tricks to keep your Mac running in peak performance.

In addition to being featured on the cover of the more than 10,000 copies of the Tekserve Mac FAQ we’ll be printing, the artist with the best cover will also win the grand prize: a copy of Adobe Creative Suite 6 (CS6) Master Collection ($2,599 value) – courtesy of Adobe – as well as a $1,000 Tekserve Gift Card. Two additional finalists will also receive a $250 Tekserve Gift Card.

Cover Design Guidelines & Specifications

Your cover submission should communicate that Tekserve and the Tekserve Mac FAQ pocket guide have all the answers to your Mac questions. Creative interpretation and other themes and ideas are welcome too. The size of your cover should be 4.25″ wide by 7″ tall, with 1/8″ to 1/4″ full bleed, and have a resolution of 300 dpi.

Your cover design must also include the Tekserve logo and the following text:

• “Tekserve Mac FAQ” [book title]
• “Twelfth Edition” [subtitle]
• “Mac OS X 10.7 & 10.8″ [subtitle]
• “Edited by David Lerner, Paul Dunford, and Michael Truskowski” [editors]

You may not use any images or artwork that aren’t yours, unless you have permission to use and publish them. Additionally, please feel free to utilize the following resources:

• The exact shade of “Tekserve blue” is Pantone PMS 7459C; CMYK 69, 16, 14, 20

How to Enter

Cover to the Tekserve Mac FAQ 10th Edition by Greg Lutze

Entries must be emailed to faq@tekserve.com by 11:59:59 ET on September 30, 2012 November 18, 2012. 

1. Attach a JPEG or PNG copy of your cover design. Attachments must be 5MB or less.
2. Include your name, email address, mailing address, and phone number in the body of your email.

Entries will be judged by the editors of the Tekserve Mac FAQ and Tekserve’s graphic design staff. Finalists will be contacted via email by October 15th, 2012 and posted on our website. One winner will receive the grand prize, and two finalists will receive one $250 Tekserve Gift Card each.

Legal Stuff

You must be at least 18 years old and reside in the USA to enter. All entries become property of Tekserve once submitted. Contestants grant Tekserve the right to use all submissions without limitations, indefinitely. Submissions must be original artwork and all elements must be the property of the artist or used by permission. Tekserve employees are not eligible to win prizes.

Please note that while we encourage all forms of artistic expression, some controversial subject matter may not be suitable for publication. No submissions will be considered if they are defamatory, abusive, obscene, profane or otherwise in poor taste.
